Stijn Van den Eeden brings 25 years of global experience in building envelopes, having contributed to design and construction projects across five continents before settling in New Zealand 15 years ago. His expertise spans building materials, façade system development, project delivery, and remedial works, with a focus on innovative, high-performance outcomes.
Stijn holds a Master’s degree in Building Physics from KU Leuven (Belgium), as well as an MBA from Tulane University (USA) and Universidad de Chile. A strong advocate for early-stage design, he completed his Passive House Designer qualification over a decade ago and has led the development and installation of off-site modular façade construction, including the notable Auckland City Mission project.
Passionate about advancing the field of façade engineering, Stijn envisions a future where façades incorporate active systems to enhance occupant comfort, health, and energy efficiency. Since joining Babbage, he has focused on mentoring his team and building capability within one of construction’s most complex and multidisciplinary engineering disciplines.
